This site was created entirely by me, Joe Lefkowitz. I'm 21 years old, and I'm a Computer Science major at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. The purpose of this site was to build a(nother) pitch f/x tool that would allow a person to create powerful and highly customizable searches without requiring them to know a database querying language. The site is still a work in progress and if you have any comments or questions, I'd like to hear them, just shoot me an email.
Pitch f/x is already re-revolutionizing baseball analysis, and hopefully this site will allow more people to gain access to this technology. Everything you see here was written from scratch by me. The data comes from MLB's site via a nifty file downloader/xml parser I wrote in java (complete with a graphical user interface). I'd be happy to share the .jar file with you, just email me. The data is imported to my mysql database using PHP. As of April 2010, this process is run automatically every morning on my server.
